Our Heritage
A Legacy Forged in Saltwater & Dedication
Three decades of craftsmanship, genuine hospitality, and lifelong connections to the Chesapeake Bay.

Since 1987
Treat every vessel like our own
Founded in 1987 by the Harrison family, Blue Heron Marina & Boatworks began with a single dock, a small service shed, and a simple philosophy: treat every vessel as if it were our own, and every boater like family.
Over three decades later, we've grown into the Chesapeake's premier full-service marine destination. Our facilities have expanded to include a state-of-the-art dry stack, a sprawling showroom, and twelve acres of waterfront — but our commitment to uncompromising craftsmanship and genuine hospitality remains unchanged.
We don't just sell boats. We build the kind of relationships that keep families coming back to the water, season after season, generation after generation.

Neighbors we've kept on the water
“Purchasing our first cruiser through Blue Heron was an exercise in pure professionalism. No pressure, just incredible knowledge and a genuine desire to match us with the perfect vessel. Their post-sale service has been equally flawless.”

“The service department here is unmatched on the Bay. I had a complex rigging issue that two other yards couldn't fix. The master tech at Blue Heron diagnosed it in an hour and had me back on the water by the weekend.”

“We've kept our boat in their dry-stack facility for three seasons now. The launch app is incredibly convenient, the staff is always courteous, and the facilities are immaculate. It truly feels like a private club.”
